St. Peter’s High School Marks 72 Glorious Years with a Tribute to Women’s Strength and Resilience

St. Peter’s High School, B.C. Road, Jammu, celebrated its 72nd Annual Day with grandeur on 30th November 2024, highlighting the theme “Celebrating the Strength and Resilience of Women.” The event, a testament to the school’s legacy of excellence, talent, and triumph, saw enthusiastic participation from students of Grades 6 to 10.

The celebration was graced by the presence of Mr. Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister of J&K, as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour were Shri Rattan Lal Gupta, Province President (NC) Jammu, and Smt. Bimla Luthra, Ex-MLA and Vice President, Women Wing (NC), J&K. Special guests Rev. Fr. Sebastian Nagathunkal, School Manager, and Rev. Fr. Shaiju Chako, Chairman, DJSEB, added to the event’s significance.

Through captivating performances, students showcased the indomitable spirit and invaluable contributions of women across various spheres. From dramatic enactments to elegant dances, each act celebrated women’s strength, resilience, and transformative impact on society. The audience, including proud parents, dignitaries, and well-wishers, was visibly moved by the depth and dynamism of the presentations. The Annual Day was a perfect blend of joy, pride, and nostalgia, reflecting the legacy of 72 remarkable years through a documentary.

The event was a culmination of dedicated efforts under the dynamic leadership of Rev. Fr. Justin Thiraviam, Principal, and the meticulous guidance of Rev. Fr. Peter Paul, School Coordinator.

A proud highlight of the event was the recognition of Mr. Ajay Kumar Koul, Mathematics Mentor, in honor of his 25 years of dedicated service at St. Peter’s High School, B.C. Road, Jammu. His unwavering commitment to excellence in education has inspired generations of students and significantly enriched the institution.

In his address, Mr. Surinder Kumar Choudhary lauded the school for instilling values of respect and equity in students. He emphasized the pivotal role of education in fostering a society where women are celebrated and empowered. Shri Rattan Lal Gupta and Smt. Bimla Luthra also commended the school’s efforts in highlighting a theme of profound societal relevance.

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem, leaving an indelible impression on all present. The event not only honored the school’s rich legacy but also reinforced its commitment to shaping socially conscious individuals.
