The Petrines of grade 5 C enlightened and motivated us on an interesting theme: ‘Lasting happiness doesn’t come from what you get but from what you give.’ We, the human beings are adorned with many envied faculties when we are born, and these get developed as we grow. We are better than the plants and other animals in every way. We have received so much from the good God, the creator and from the nature He has created all around us. The good Lord blessed the human beings to govern the nature, to take care of the nature. But due to our greed and selfishness, we destroy it, instead of governing and caring for it. And the same attitude is extended towards our fellow human beings. We are in the habit of taking things from others with or without permission. We feel entitled to have all facilities and so all our sufferings begin. We have lost our joy and peace due to our own choice of taking from others, and not sharing with others. Remember we are born in this world with so many faculties, potentials, gifts and blessings, so that we share the blessings with others and the nature. So that there is a win-win situation for both me and the others, including the nature. It is rightly said that happiness is an inside job. You don’t find it in the things, persons and relations outside.
