Third Advent Candle JOY – When the birth of Lord Jesus was announced to Joseph, the husband of Mary, the angel said that Jesus would be Immanuel – which means ‘God-with-us’. Jesus is Go-with-us. That is the JOY, we are blessed with in the season of Christmas. When Jesus the Lord was born in Bethlehem, the angel appeared to the shepherds who were watching their sheep at night, and said, “Don’t be afraid! I have good news for you, a message that will fill everyone with joy.” The birth of Jesus – celebrated as the festival of Christmas fills everyone with JOY. That is why the candle of JOY is lit on every third Sunday of the holy Advent season. Let us pray to the Lord that JOY be filled in our families and in our Petrine Family during this Christmas season and every day.
