St. Peter's High School Morning Announcements - May 18, 2024
  • We’d like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Petrine student council members of class 8, under the esteemed guidance of Mrs. Surbhi Gupta, for conducting this morning assembly on the topics: ‘International Museum Day & Set your goals high and don’t stop till you get there’.
  • Today, as we celebrate International Museum Day, let’s draw inspiration from the resilience of art and culture. Museums are more than just repositories of artifacts; they are windows into our shared history, creativity, and human spirit. Just like the masterpieces displayed within those walls, each of you has the potential to create something extraordinary.
  • It’s No Bag Day today! Get ready for a fun-filled day of engaging activities planned by your teachers.
  • Competitive activities will be held in the 2nd & the 3rd periods. Grade teachers and co-teachers will be on duty as usual.
  • Club meetings are happening today during periods 7 and 8. Be sure to check the staff room notice boards for your specific meeting location. Club in-charges, we hope you’ve planned it well! Promptly begin your meetings at the start of period 7. Dismiss students 15 minutes before the final bell so they can return to their classrooms for dismissal.
  • 2nd round of PT in subject English will be held on Monday. Prepare well for it.
  • SEA (Marks) Week begins on Monday, May 20, 2024. Dear Petrines, you get marks added to your term-end exams because of your performances in SEA (Marks), PT and CWC maintenance. Your performance, hence, in these is crucial. Prepare well, work harder, score well, and you and your parents will have reason to be happy.
  • To the attention of the 50% Petrines who are fee defaulters of the school’s first quarter fees, you are requested to impress upon your parents/guardians to deposit offline school fees at Canara Bank with late fee from May 10. Time has already begun. Another three days to go. Till May 20, this provision is available. Do not ignore this message for a stress-free education at St. Peter’s!
  • Remind students that stereotypes are harmful and perpetuate biases. Encourage them to challenge stereotypes and recognize that individuals are unique, regardless of their appearance. Emphasize the value of diversity. Encourage students to celebrate differences and recognize the richness that diverse backgrounds bring to the classroom. If a student witnesses or experiences a microaggression related to appearance, encourage them to address it respectfully. They can say, “I prefer not to be judged based on my appearance,” or “Let’s focus on our shared interests”. I wish teachers learn about microaggressions related to appearance and empower the students to avoid such microaggressions and to face with courage and respect. Promoting an inclusive culture is essential in any educational setting.
  • Summer Trekking Camp at Dalhousie in June 1st week stands as per schedule. We respect the students who have registered and made the payment for the same. Hence, we are not cancelling the trip. We shall have the trip.
  • Congratulations to our very own Petrines along with accompanied by Mrs. Himani Sharma for participating in the interschool theme-based flower arrangement competition at Army Public School Jammu Cantt., held under the aegis of JSSC yesterday.  We hope they had a wonderful experience! Even though they didn’t win this time, it’s fantastic that they brought home participation certificates!
  • Adwin Gill of class 3C won silver medal in inter district Khelo Bharat Karate Premier League that was held on May 14, 2024 organized by Traditional Karate-Do association of Jammu and Kashmir.
